France
Anais is 16 and lives in the south of France together with her parents and younger brother. Her father is a farmer and they live close to the water so in the summer they spend a lot of time at the beach and on the sea. They also love to travel together. She practices dancing twice a week and she plays the piano once a week. She loves all her friends and spends a lot of time with them going shopping, going to the movies and to the beach. She describes herself as independent, organized and thoughtful.
Sweden
Fredrik is 15 and lives in the north of Sweden together with his parents and younger brother and sister. They are a very active family and they like to play golf, skiing and camping together. He is helping out a lot at home with the daily chores and the cooking. He likes computers and wants to become a computer game developer. He wants to study in the US and he sees this summer as the perfect opportunity to improve his English skills. He is looking forward to prepare his host family a typical Swedish meal!
China
Lin is 13 years old. She lives in Shanghai with her parents. She describes herself as a very optimistic girl. She loves to draw and paint and has even won several drawing competitions. She plays the piano and has just started to learn playing the guitar as well. She also likes to swim and she plays badminton every weekend. She likes music and her favorite bands are Tokio Hotel and Black Eyed Peas. Lin is excited to travel to the US and to meet her host family. She is hoping that she can stay in touch with them for the rest of her life.
Germany
Stefan is 18 and lives together with his parents and their 2 cats. He doesn’t have any siblings. He has a very good relationship with his mom and dad. They communicate a lot and support each other. He also helps his grand parents when they have computer problems. In his free time he likes to play American football and to play the drums. He is also a DJ! He wants to become a graphic designer or film editor. He describes himself as athletic, thoughtful and very family oriented.
Spain
Ana is 17 years old and absolutely loves kids. In her family they are five members and she has a younger brother and a younger sister. Since they are a big family she likes to be around a lot of people. In the future she wants to study medicine and travel a lot. She is a hard working student but when she is not in school she likes to do a lot of fun stuff with her friends. They go to the beach or listen to music or go shopping together. She is a nature-loving teenager that can’t wait to make new friends in the US.
