| Where can you find anything from alligators to lighthouses? In St. Augustine, Florida, the oldest city in the United States. The town was founded in 1565 by Pedro Menendez. Since then it has been the destination for hundreds of visitors each year. Due to its history, each building in the historic downtown has a rich story. Some of these include the Lightner Museum, Flager College (the old Ponce de Leon hotel), the Castillo de San Marco fort, oldest drugstore, military hospital, government house and more.
History is not the only reason so many people love the city. There are more than 24 miles of white sandy beaches to sit, relax, and soak in the Sunshine State. This also provides the backdrop for breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Popular pastimes include volleyball, mini-golf, and surfing to name a few.
